The excitement surrounding the Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in 2025 has been skyrocketing, with new sets selling out in stores globally. The recently launched Inferno X Mega Evolution set has captivated the Pokemon TCG community. Building on this momentum, Pokémon TCG Pocket has announced its upcoming set, titled Mega Rising. In this article, we’ll cover all the details about the upcoming set.
A few months ago, during the Pokémon World Championships, Pokémon had teased the launch of Mega Evolution in TCG. Amongst the Pokémon community, it is one of the most beloved mechanics released in the game. Certain Pokémon have a new form that can be triggered if the player has the desirable Mega Stone. In a post on their official social media handles, Pokémon TCG Pocket released more information on the Mega Rising Expansion Set. The new set of cards will be available in the game on October 30th. There will be three different mega-evolved Pokémon on the cover of each pack. Below is a list of the 3 Pokémon:

There is a new rarity type of cards that will be released during this set called Mega EX. Within this rarity, Pokémon with a mega evolution will be included, having more health points than regular EX cards.
Currently, Pokémon like Gyrados, Blaziken, Altaria, Absol, Ampharos, and Pinsir will be receiving cards of this rarity within the Mega Rising set. Cards within this rarity will have a higher amount of health points compared to regular EX cards. The moves of Pokémon within this rarity will also require more energy points and output higher amounts of damage.
The Mega Rising set isn’t a limited-time set like the recently launched Deluxe Pack EX. Once this set is released on October 30th, the set will be available forever. Each pack will consist of 5 cards, with the pull rate of the full art cards and Mega EX cards being the lowest. Players will be able to open two packs of this new set for free each day.
The Pokémon TCG community online has been quite appreciative of the new deck. Fans are happy to see Pokémon like Goomy and Growlithe receive new full-art cards. Redditor u/UJustMadeTheList stated the following concerning the upcoming deck:

Another Rerdditpr u/Bassaluna, believes that the Mega Ampharos Ex card might be one of the best cards in the set. Mega Evolution was first introduced back in 2013 during Pokémon X and Y. Since then, we have seen multiple Pokémon receive new Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends Z-A. With Mega Evolutions being added to Pokémon TCG Pocket, there will be quite a few changes in the meta of the game. A lot of players might shift their playstyle to add one Mega EX pokémon in their team. Others will also create new builds focused on the latest mega Pokémon cards.
