Back in October 2024, the game released worldwide and took the world by storm. Pokémon TCG Pocket made the trading card game a lot more accessible to players around the world. Following the conclusion of the Pokémon World Champions 2025, Pokémon announced that Mega Evolutions will soon be available in the game. What does this mean for the future of Pokémon TCG Pocket? In October 2025, Pokémon Legends Z-A will be released worldwide. It will take place in the region of Kalos. Many Pokémon fans will remember it as the first region to introduce Mega Evolution. Following this, Pokémon has announced that Mega Evolution will be returning to the Pokémon Trading Card Game.
In the same announcement, they released a trailer announcing that Mega Evolutions will be a part of Pokémon TCG Pocket in fall 2025. Pokémon TCG Pocket is a Pokémon trading card game available on Android as well as iOS devices. The launch of this game is widely credited as the significant reason for younger and older fans getting into the hobby of collecting Pokémon cards.

In the upcoming Mega Evolution deck, Pokémon TCG Pocket will be releasing 3 Mega Evolutions:
Each of these Pokémons will have some of the highest HP stats in the game. Using these cards might feel overpowered, but they come with their drawbacks. If the enemy knocks out your Mega Evolved Pokémon, it will result in a direct loss for you. Enemies will receive 3 points, resulting in a one-shot victory. Currently, no information is provided on which other Pokémons will be a part of this upcoming deck.
Back in October 2013, Pokémon X and Y were released worldwide on the Nintendo 3DS. This game first introduced the mechanic of Mega Evolutions within Pokémon. Certain Pokémon were given a new form of temporary evolution during a battle. This power-up would result in the Pokémon again having a new form with better stats. The ability to Mega Evolve was only available to a specific Pokémon within the game. A few examples would be Pokémon like Charizard, Blastoise, and Rayquaza. Following the launch of Sword and Shield, we have only seen Mega Evolution in the game Let’s Go, Evee and Pikachu.
In the upcoming game Pokémon Legends Z-A, Mega Evolutions would be returning. During the Pokémon World Championship 2025, Pokémon also announced that Mega Evolution will be available on Pokémon Champions.
