New Mega Evolution for Victreebel Announced by Pokémon

The hype train for Pokémon Legends Z-A is truly on its way. Since the Pokémon World Championship 2025, the hype for the game has increased drastically, and the game is slated to take place in the Kalos region. During the recent Pokémon Presents, Pokémon announced the first new mega evolution: Mega Dragonite. In a recent video on their official YouTube channel, Pokémon announced a new mega Pokémon: Mega Victreebel.

Victreebel is one of the most commonly known Pokémon within the community. It was first introduced in the first generation of Pokémon games. Its origins lie in the Kanto region. The Pokémon is the final form of the popular Pokémon Bellsprout. The previous form of Victreebel is Weepinbell. Weepinbell evolves into Victreebell by giving it a Leaf Stone at any level. The Pokémon is a grass and poison type in the games.

The interesting part about Pokémon is its ability to have Chlorophyll. If Victreebel is in the sun, the speed of the Pokémon is doubled. If we take a look at the Victreebel, it would be like a Venus flytrap. The best base stat of the Pokémon is its 105 base attack. The Pokémon is weak to Flying, Fire, Psychic, and Ice. The base form of Victreebel has a base stat total of 490.

Its new Mega form will reportedly have a base stat total of 550. Within the trailer for this new form, we can see the Pokémon using poison-type attacks on most Pokémon. Thus, it can be believed that Mega Victreebel will be a special attacker rather than a mixed attacker. The new Mega Evolution of Victreebel looks like a pouch of water. According to the Pokémon website, the Pokémon waves the leaves on top of its head to waft the scent toward opponents, immobilizing them.

Currently, there is no information on the typing of the new mega form or its functionality. Mega Victreebel is the second new mega evolution to be available in Pokémon Legends Z-A. With Dragonite, another Pokémon from the Kanto region already having its Mega Evolution announced, only time will tell if we get to see new Mega Evolutions for Pokémon from other regions.
