The hype train for Pokémon Z-A has truly begun. Recently, the Pokémon Company announced a new Mega Evolution for the Pokémon Victreebel. In a recent post on their YouTube channel, Pokémon announced the new Mega form of Hawlucha. Let’s take a look at all the details of the latest Mega Evolution of Hawlucha in Pokémon Legends Z-A.
The first new Mega Evolution in Pokémon Legends Z-A is of Dragonite, and the second one is of Victreebel. Hawlucha was introduced in Pokémon back in 2013 in the game Pokémon X and Y. Hawlucha was the first flying and fighting Pokémon in any Pokémon game. The Pokémon is one of the native Pokémons from the Kalos region. When it was released, it had its own special move called Flying Press. It was a fighting-type attack with a base power of 100 and 95% accuracy.
The design of Hawlucha has been inspired by wrestlers in Mexico. Lucha libre is the style of wrestling seen in Mexico. Within this, most wrestlers wear a mask unique to them. There is a greater focus on attacks that require the wrestler to jump from high spots or engage in more gymnastic moves. Below are the base stats of Hawlucha:

The Mega Evolution of Hawlucha will have a total base stat total of 600. The new form of Haulucha shows the Pokémon wearing a new black and gold mask. His cape has gotten longer, making him look more majestic. In the video by the Pokémon Company, we can see Mega Hawlucha face off against Machamp. After a few rounds, we can see it uses Flying Press and defeats Machamp. It must be noted that there is a high possibility we will see Mega Hawlucha be a part of Pokémon Champions.
Hawlucha becomes the first Pokémon from Kalos to receive a new mega form. Before this, we have seen the Kanto grass and poison-type Pokémon Victreebel get a new mega form. Currently, the Pokémon will retain its typing form from its original form. Pokémon Legends Z-A is slated to release worldwide on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 on October 16.
