With the Pokémon World Championships 2025 coming to a close a few weeks ago, the hype for Pokémon has been building up. The Pokémon company has already made multiple announcements concerning its upcoming games. With the likes of Mega Evolution coming back in Pokémon Legends Z-A, it does feel like the comapny is finally finding its groove. If there is one game that has had a lasting impact since its launch, it’s Pokémon Go. In a post on their official social media handles, Pokémon Go has announced the upcoming season of the game: Tales of Transformation! Let’s take a look at all the information about the forthcoming Tales of Transformation season in Pokémon Go.

It’s been over 9 years since Pokémon Go was released worldwide. It was one of the first Pokémon games to be widely available on mobile. Since its launch, the game has undergone several updates. The game incorporates various mechanics from traditional Pokémon games. One such feature is Dynamax. This mechanic was introduced during Pokémon Sword and Shield. Within this, Pokémon turn into bigger forms of themselves, some having a unique transformation as well. After turning large, these Pokemon have double their health points and new moves, a special move for each type of attack within the game.
In the upcoming season Tales of Transformation, Pokémon Go is slated to launch some new transformations for some Pokémon. According to the trailer, it does look like the Mega Evolution of the Steel and Psychic-type Pokémon Metagross will finally be available within the game. Alongside that, the Gigantamax form of Eevee will finally be available in the game. Another transformation that was hinted at was the Resolute Form of the legendary Pokémon Keldeo.
The upcoming season seems to be focused on the transformation of certain Pokémon. Currently, in the game, Mega Evolution is possible for certain Pokémon. These include the likes of Mega Venusaur, Mega Blastoise, Mega Gengar, and Mega Rayquaza. We have yet to see the two Mega Evolutions of the legendary Pokémon Mewtwo. The upcoming season, Tales of Transformation, is slated to go live on September 2nd, 2025.
