Former professional League of Legends player Luka Perkz Perković has been announced as the newest member of the ownership structure for Friendly Fire, a gaming cafe chain from Croatia that operates in several countries in Europe.

Perkz retired from professional play less than six months ago to focus on his family and projects outside of esports, with Friendly Fire apparently being one of them. The best Croatian esports player in history and one of Europe’s best League of Legends players, Perkz has played for the likes of Team Heretics and Cloud9, but has made the biggest impact on esports during his time at G2 Esports, with whom he won eight LEC championships and the 2019 MSI.

Not much was revealed in terms of details about the newest venture, but the founder of Friendly Fire, David Kosir, shared via social media that both sides were working on the deal for months. Kosir added that Perkz brings capital, network, recognition, authority and validation to Friendly Fire. The company will, in turn, allow him to remain in touch with esports and gaming while helping shape the future of Friendly Fire, one of Croatia’s most interesting gaming companies.

Perkz shared the following statement through the Friendly Fire blog:

I’m thrilled to be joining Friendly Fire at such an exciting moment in the brand’s journey. Friendly Fire has built something truly special—a mix of creativity, authenticity, and ambition that really resonates with people. I’m looking forward to helping shape what comes next and pushing the brand toward an even brighter, bolder future.

Friendly Fire was founded in 2017, and has since expanded from Croatia to several countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Mexico, Slovenia, the Benelux region and is planning to further expand into the UK, Spain, Poland and other countries. Friendly Fire opened around 200 new locations just in 2025. The company operates under a franchise model, and its core business is gaming cafes, where visitors can play games both locally and online.

The cafes use digital coins as payment instead of money, allowing users to buy coins for real-world money and then spend them inside the franchises. Friendly Fire also produces its own gaming peripherals such as chairs, mice and headsets.
