During VALORANT Masters Santiago, NRG and Paper Rex have faced off against each other twice. In the first match-up, Paper Rex defeated NRG with a scoreline of 2-1. Each game was a close affair, but the ace by invy sealed Paper Rex’s win.
In the rematch during the upper bracket in the playoffs stage, NRG got their revenge with a 2-0 scoreline. Skuba was the MVP of the match, securing 45 kills in the series.
In this match, NRG showed why they are one of the best defensive teams in the world. They won six of seven retakes on Pearl, which was truly incredible as Paper Rex is known for their chaotic entry and post-plant routines.
During this game, NRG also won three 1v2 clutch situations, breaking down the mentality of Paper Rex.
The third match between NRG and Paper Rex will be very different from the previous two matches, as this will be a best-of-five series. Map vetoes will be playing a very important role in the game plan of each team.
For Paper Rex, they will hope that Split isn’t banned by NRG, as they have been undefeated on that map this season. On the other hand, we might see the map of Pearl be banned by Paper Rex.
In the last two matches between these teams, NRG have secured the victory on both occasions.

In our opinion, this match will be absolute cinema. The reason for this statement is the class of ideologies between these two teams.
Paper Rex is the high-tempo, rock and roll playstyle team, while NRG is all about having a slow tempo and structured playstyle.
NRG is one of the best defensive teams this season. It must be noted that in the playoffs, Paper Rex won three games after losing the first map. Thus, if NRG wants to win, then they will need to find a way to break the mentality of Paper Rex.
During both their previous matches, NRG has permabanned Abyss against Paper Rex. It will be interesting to note if they will once again ban Abyss or Split, the map where Paper Rex has the best record.
Two players to keep an eye out for during this match are Invy from Paper Rex and Skuba from NRG. While they aren’t the duelists for each team, they have been two of the most consistent players for each team.
One minor detail to keep an eye out for is if NRG plays a solo duelist or double duelist composition to counter the aggression of Paper Rex
Overall, both teams are going to try to win this match and secure their spot in the grand finals of VALORANT Masters Santiago. We do expect that this match will go the full five maps, with Paper Rex winning the series 3-2.
Paper Rex as the match winner 3:2 @ 4.59 odds at GG.BET.
