The upcoming Overwatch 2 collaboration event is more than meets the eye, as Blizzard and Hasbro reveal a new trailer with a release date for a Transformers crossover.
This new crossover was teased back in June with a brief transforming logo at the end of the season 11 trailer. Now fans are getting a closer look at the Transformers-themed skins, a new trailer, and even a tie-in digital comic. Blizzard has confirmed four skins for the event, which will likely also feature new gameplay modes and ways to earn free cosmetics.
Here’s everything we know about the Overwatch 2 Transformers skins from heroes to price to release date.
The Overwatch 2 x Transformers event is the chance to earn or buy new Transformers-themed skins for Overwatch characters. The trailer confirms skins for the following picks.
The Overwatch 2 x Transformers collaboration release date is July 9. Overwatch events traditionally run for 3-4 weeks, so players will be able to unlock the new skins until early August. While the gameplay additions will be free to play, the actual skins listed above will cost real money.
The Overwatch 2 Tranformers skins will likely cost between 2,200 and 3,500 Overwatch Coins, which comes out to approximately $20-30 USD.
This estimate is based on previous crossover skin prices. That is the price bracket from the Cowboy Bebop and Le Sserafim crossovers. Individual legendary skins could be purchased for around 1,900 Overwatch Coins. Alternatively, players could buy a mega bundle containing all the cosmetics, which could cost between 5,600-8,200 coins, depending on the size of the crossover. As such, it’s likely that the Transformers hero skins will also cost around $20 per skin.
Some Overwatch 2 collab events also offered select skins for free, such as the Mumen Rider skin for Soldier 76 during the One Punch Man collab. It’s not yet known if the Transformers collab will provide a similar offer. Overwatch 2 fans will have to wait until the July 9 release date to learn more about potential free Transformers skins.
