Overwatch 2, while providing a polished in-game experience, has been plagued by server issues early on. When you and your friends finally get past the queue, you’re greeted with a message that says “player is on a different version of Overwatch.”
Thankfully, there’s a relatively easy fix for this – no need to restart your game and get back in line for the servers.
Different version of Overwatch fix
The steps to fix the different version of Overwatch error is simple:
- Navigate to the “chat” section in the bottom right
- Type “/invite”
- type in the desired gamertag or Battlenet username
- Send the invite!
There you go! Making it through the devastating queue only to see this error can be extremely frustrating. Luckily, there’s an easy fix for it.
We can’t say the same for the 40,000-player queue, but it is what it is.
