The 2026 VCT season for Paper Rex has had quite the highs and lows. From defeating Global Esports twice to nearly being eliminated in the lower bracket, we have seen it all to the shock of many. Paper Rex qualified for VALORANT Masters Santiago as the third seed. Because of this, they started in the Swiss stage of the tournament.
During the Swiss stage, Paper Rex defeated both NRG and G2 Esports in convincing fashion. Against G2 Esports, they won both maps in a comfortable manner. These two wins helped them secure a spot in the playoff stage.
In the draw, Furia picked Paper Rex to be their opponents. However, this proved to be the wrong decision as they went on to lose 2-1. It was a close game, but once Paper Rex got the lead, Furia could not break them down.

VALORANT betting odds via GG.BET, March 9, 2026.
Going into this match, Paper Rex are on a three-game winning streak. If we take a look at the map veto for both teams, one map to keep an eye out for is Bind. On this map, Paper Rex have an 80%-win rate, but at the same time, NRG has never played this map. Bind has been a permanent ban from NRG in the VCT 2026 season. Haven, Breeze, and Split are the most likely maps in the series.
This will be quite an interesting series as Paper Rex are the clear favorites to win this tie. We believe that Paper Rex will defeat NRG once again during VALORANT Masters Santiago and secure the win with a scoreline of 2-1.
Paper Rex as the match winner 2-1 @ 3.37 odds at GG.BET.
