While s0m and mada are excellent players who usually lead the side in frags, brawk’s consistent bottom-fragging performances seemingly hold the team back. On the other hand, Cloud9 also has multiple powerhouse players, including OXY, Xeppaa, and v1c, while the other two players still carry a sufficient load and make their presence known through utilities.
Cloud9 has a good chance here of creating an upset against NRG and may be the team to side with. Along with its higher potential payout, C9 is also just a deceptively strong pick here. The group stage doesn’t accurately represent how the two teams stack up against each other as both were in different groups, and that disparity may account for Cloud9’s underdog status. Don’t be fooled, however. C9 are real contenders here.
Cloud9 is generally the stronger team in eco rounds and may emerge victorious in the match’s pistol rounds. After NRG lost against G2 Esports in the upper bracket semifinals was in part down to eco play, something C9 may be able to take advantage of.
