Leading CS2 matchmaking service Faceit has invited a regular Counter-Strike 2 player to its headquarters to play “under supervision,” following cheating allegations, resulting in a community-wide buzz that has everyone talking about Maidar “nocries.”
It’s not every day that a platform as big as Faceit picks out a CS2 player and brings them over to its headquarters. So when the company revealed it had invited a player named nocries, the news caught fans off guard. But not everyone was surprised. Some in the CS2 scene immediately had heard of this player, and not for altogether positive reasons.
While nocries might be just another player on paper, his gameplay is anything but ordinary. It was enough to earn him a straight invite to the principal’s office: Faceit headquarters.
Hailing from Mongolia, nocries is one of the top CS2 players on Faceit North America, boasting a jaw-dropping ELO of 4284. However, his elo isn’t why most fans know about him and recognize his name. nocries is best-known for the cheating allegations leveled against him due to his impressive stats posted on Faceit.
The Mongolian Counter-Strike player is currently ranked as the second-best player on NA Faceit, with more than 1,100 matches played. He boasts a 1.51 K/D and 104 ADR, stats that have earned him plenty of attention in the local CS2 scene. Along with that recognition came controversy, as some players accused him of cheating, though no definitive proof has ever surfaced. The debate grew louder when he briefly became the top-ranked NA player on Faceit, leading fans to demand that Faceit take the situation more seriously.
Eventually, bigger names including STYKO started talking about the alleged cheating being done by the player who had ranked number one in North America. Now, Faceit has called him over to prove that he’s a clean player in a controlled setting.

On his first two days at Faceit HQ, nocries won both of his matches with a positive K/D, drawing praise from many across the community. News of his invite even caught the attention of Robin “ropz” Kool, a CS2 top player who had a similar career trajectory in his early days.

After being accused of cheating in 2017, ropz played FPL games from European Faceit headquarters in London. He went on to become one of the best riflers in the world, winning trophies with MOUZ and later joining FaZe Clan, where he lifted a Major title at PGL Antwerp 2022.
Fans have begun drawing parallels between nocries and ropz, who was already making waves in the scene at just 15 years old. Nocries, now at 18, may have started a little later, but his rise through Faceit has started similar conversations as players marvel at his established level of performance and wonder if he can keep it up in a live environment the likes of Faceit HQ.
