During the most recent Nintendo Direct stream, the studio announced the most anticipated project of the year: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date.
Breath of the Wild is one of the
best Nintendo Switch games
on the platform, and its successor has some big shoes to fill.

revealed some smaller upcoming projects but was highlighted by the Tears of the Kingdom release date.

Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom release date
Tears of the Kingdom will release on May 12, 2023.
Nintendo is typically a studio that only announces release dates for projects when they’re ready to ship.
With Tears of the Kingdom coming within the next year, we don’t expect to see much of a delay.

As expected, Zelda fans are ecstatic to hear the news. Tears of the Kingdom will enter a relatively stale gaming market – and if it’s anywhere near Breath of the Wild, it is a sure shot at Game of the Year.
We can only imagine the expansive world we’ll enter in Tears of the Kingdom.
Breath of the Wild is now five years old and still sits near the top of the RPG heap. It’s hard to imagine that Tears of the Kingdom will be much lower than its predecessor – even if it falls a bit short.
