Nijisanji officially terminates Twisty Amanozako contract, here’s why

Twisty Amanozako terminated

Vtuber agency Nijisanji has made official its decision to terminate the contract of vtuber Twisty Amanozako, and fans wonder whether it has anything to do with the allegations leveled against Aster Arcadia.

The allegations made against Aster Arcadia shocked many fans and observers at the time. Although further information about the agency’s reported investigation hasn’t been disclosed, the vtuber Twisty is easily one of the most affected by this thus far. Twisty Amanozako went on an indefinite hiatus after the allegations were made public, and many fans speculated that she would eventually leave the agency.

Nijisanji and Twisty said nothing about the vtuber’s exit from the agency, but her videos and social accounts were soon removed. This strengthened the belief among fans that Twisty would graduate, and it looks like those suspicions were right. On June 21, Nijisanji tweeted that the agency has terminated Twisty Amanozako’s contract, but not for the explicit reasons most had predicted.

Why was Twisty Amanozako terminated from Nijisanji?

In a tweet, Nijisanji revealed that Twisty Amanozako’s contract was terminated because the vtuber used discriminatory speech, which violated the terms of her contract.

Twisty Amanzako was recently embroiled in controversy because the vtuber made transphobic and racist comments in a video. YouTube has since taken down the controversial stream, and Twisty received significant backlash from fans. The vtuber apologized for her comments and shared her desire to move on from the incident.

Twisty Amanozako terminated

Nijisanji stated that Twisty’s derogatory comments in the video went against her contractual requirements and that the company wouldn’t tolerate such behavior from any of its staff. This is the official reason for Nijisanji terminating Twisty’s contract, but some fans speculate it isn’t the whole reason. Many claim Nijisanji did the right thing regardless given what Twisty said, but still wonder whether Twisty’s controversy gave Nijisanji the perfect way to get rid of her while the agency avoids taking any further blame for the controversies she was involved in.

The vtuber agency said that its community is built on respect and accountability, but that seemingly doesn’t apply to everyone. Skeptical fans questioned why the investigation against Aster Arcadia hasn’t yet been made public. Many fans want Aster to face consequences if he’s in the wrong. Twisty previously claimed that she believed no investigation was actually taking place. The vtuber’s claims and her recent termination prompt many angry viewers to demand that the agency to be more transparent.

Aster Arcadia hasn’t streamed since the allegations surfaced. Nijisanji also hasn’t talked about the situation either since it released a statement about a third-party investigation. Time will tell what the investigation’s are ever made public and whether any guilty parties are punished for their roles in the matter.
