New shapes for Fortnite storm leak

Fortnite storm

In Chapter 7, the Fortnite storm is going to be very different. A lot of the gameplay has changed significantly, including the brief change from a battle bus to a tsunami to get players onto the island. Once they’re on the island, though, it’s still the same battle royale PvP with tweaks from previous seasons. But the biggest change perhaps in the game’s long history happened to the storm, and we now know what it’s going to look like.

New Fortnite storm shapes surface

The Fortnite storm has always been circular. The safe zone from the storm began as a massive circle that gradually shrank, randomly filling in a portion of the existing circle with a smaller circle. Eventually, the safe circle would begin moving around the map, forcing players to follow it if there were any still remaining by that point.

Now, the function of the storm isn’t changing, but the shape is. Rather than being the outside of a circle, the shape will now be the outside of random shapes, including a seven for The Seven in Fortnite lore.

Leaker ShiinaBR posted a video of the different possible safe zones. It can still be a circle, but it can also be a triangle, square, rhombus, rectangle, the number seven, a Christmas tree, a bowling pin, or a boomerang. These shapes can vary in size and formation, essentially meaning that there are countless possibilities for what the zone will look like on each playthrough.

It should be noted that these shapes don’t appear to change. If the first zone is the shape of a seven, then all subsequent zones will be a seven, just smaller. It will not go from the shape of a Christmas tree to a square. This does provide a new wrinkle in the gameplay and a unique factor to consider in Chapter 7, but it’s not going to get too terribly outrageous.
