Valve is bringing the dream of free wallhacks in CS2 to reality by not delivering a hotfix for an allegedly long-standing bug.
In Counter-Strike 2, there’s a stark difference between an exploit and a bug. A bug may be triggered randomly, while an exploit works due to an issue with the game but requires players to take an extra step to make it work. The critical difference lies in intention: by using an exploit, players are equally at fault as Valve for not addressing the issue with a fix. This new CS2 wallhack bug is inherently an exploit, but it’s so viable that even most honest players may feel the urge to give it a shot.
On July 30, a player named villeeCS highlighted a game-breaking bug that provides a clear view behind a wall, and some players claim it has existed for months.
According to the original poster, player need to bind a key of their choice to a specific command to enable wallhacks in CS2. Once they do that, they only need to press the selected key and hold a knife out for the exploit to work.
As a result, they’ll have a clear view of the other side of the nearest wall. It doesn’t matter where they are, the exploit will leave the enemies vulnerable and bare. According to the community, this game-breaking bug has existed for some time now. However, more players have found out about it after it went viral on X.
As mentioned earlier, it’s not a randomly-triggered bug, but an exploit. So, even though not all players know how to enable the bug, a good portion of them have started to use it in premier CS2 games. Those actively using the bug are at risk of getting banned, so it’s recommended to avoid using it in public matches.
Due to the severity of the CS2 wallhack bug and its increasing popularity, Valve may roll out an instant fix. Until then, players may want to remain cautious even if an enemy is hiding behind a wall.
