Comparing League’s current framework to CS:GO majors highlights the benefits of having diverse tournament productions. This could foster greater competition and attract more viewers to high-stakes matches.

What changes would enhance League of Legends tournaments?

To enhance League of Legends tournaments, the following changes could be implemented:

  1. Adopt an Open Circuit Format: Similar to CS:GO, introducing an open circuit format could allow for more international tournaments and provide opportunities for teams to qualify through various competitions.
  2. Increase International Matches: Organizing more international tournaments would facilitate encounters between top teams, such as EU versus NA matchups, which could generate greater viewer interest.
  3. Eliminate the Spring Split: Removing the spring split could create space for a series of international tournaments, allowing teams to compete more frequently on a global stage.
  4. Diverse Tournament Productions: Allowing alternate production companies to host tournaments could enhance the viewing experience and bring fresh perspectives to the competition.
  5. Focus on Competitive Integrity: Ensuring that the tournament structure prioritizes competitive integrity and excitement over business safety could lead to more thrilling matchups and greater fan engagement.

These changes aim to increase the frequency and quality of competitive play, ultimately attracting more viewers and enhancing the overall experience of League of Legends tournaments.
