The Version1 Valorant roster gained a lot of fans after Masters 2 as the first team to represent NA against EU – smashing Team Liquid and sending them to the lower bracket.
Now, after only one day of competition, Version1 is out of Stage 3 Challengers 1, meaning they’ll need to go through open qualifiers to make it to the NA playoffs for Masters 3.
Version1 took on the massively popular 100 Thieves, losing 0-2 after a 36-round Icebox battle.
The squad then went to the lower bracket, where they faced the under-known Kansas City Pioneers, where they lost 1-2.
In a post-match interview, Vanity said that the two matches were the worst that Version1 had ever played as a team.
They had another stand-in – just like they did at Masters – but couldn’t overcome the handicap the same way they have in the past.

Version1 will now need to battle their way through the Challengers 2 Open Qualifiers if they want to secure a spot in the final playoffs form Masters 3.
We don’t anticipate this being much of an issue, as Version1 consistently competes with the top teams in NA.
Sentinels is still the team to beat, but 100T, XSET, Envy, GenG, and now the Kansas City Pioneers represent some massive competition in the region.
The NA scene is shaping up to be an extremely competitive one. Even Sentinels lost their first round in months to GenG on Bind. We can’t wait to see how it all shakes out.
