The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Indonesia (MPL ID) Season 17 will take place at the MPL Arena in Jakarta from March 27 onwards.

Eight teams will compete for a share of the 4.86 billion Indonesian rupiah (about $286,000) prize pool and slots to the Mid-Season Cup (MSC) 2026 in Saudi Arabia.

Format explained

The MPL ID Season 17 will begin with the Regular Season from March 27 to May 24. The precise schedule for the playoffs hasn’t been announced yet.
The Regular Season will feature a double round-robin format, with all matches being best-of-three.
Teams will earn a point for winning and none for losing. At the end, the top six will move to the playoffs.
The playoffs will begin with elimination matches between the third to sixth placed teams of the Regular Season.
The winner of these two matches will move to a double-elimination bracket.
All matches will be best-of-five, except for the lower bracket final and the grand final, which will be best-of-seven series.

The MLBB betting favorites for the season are once again ONIC ID, the back-to-back champions of 2025.

This time, the team is even more well prepared as Grant “Kelra” Pillas joins the squad. Kelra is a Filipino star and first MLBB player to earn an FMVP title in all three MOONTON tournaments—MPL, MSC, and the M World Championship.

Kelra has joined on the back of a decent season, where he placed second at the MPL PH Season 15 and third in the MSC. This will be the first time he is playing in Indonesia, and fans will be looking out to see how he performs.

Nonetheless, ONIC ID are a betting favorite throughout the tournament.

Following closely in second place are Alter Ego. The Indonesian team almost claimed the M7 throne for Indonesia, a trophy that has long eluded the region, but fell in the finals to Aurora PH.

Nonetheless, the team is now looking to once again return to the international stage and win. Alter Ego has made one change during the off-season, with jungler Gebe leaving for Alter Ego X and being replaced by Reynaldo “Reyy” Ferdiand.

Alter Ego have a lot to prove this year after their second place in the M7. However, we would still put them behind ONIC in the power rankings.

Lastly, we have Bigetron by Vitality, another team to look out for in the tournament.

While 2025 wasn’t an eventful year, with the team coming in fifth and fourth during the MPL ID Season 15 and 16, respectively, they look to be on the right track to stage some upsets.

The most notable additions for the team come in the form of three players from the Bigetron Academy team, who dominated in the previous MDL season.

Bigetron by Vitality have added Joshua “Lynchh” Elshad, Dolynn, and Cliveee to their lineup. While it may be a gamble in elevating three MDL players, their dominance in the developmental league speaks for itself.

The three players won the tournament without dropping a single game in the playoffs.
