The final round of the PGL Cluj-Napoca group stage is here and six teams are facing do-or-die best-of-three matches in the tournament, including both MOUZ and Virtus.pro.
MOUZ looked like it was positioned to skate through the group stage. The team beat BIG in a stomp and then took a win over 3DMAX. That put MOUZ in a spot where one more win would let the team advance to the playoffs. Then FaZe Clan happened.
Hot off an upset win over Eternal Fire, FaZe took a mostly clean 2-0 victory over MOUZ. From there, MOUZ took a tough 2-1 loss from Team Falcons that put the team at risk of the Swiss stage equivalent of a reverse sweep. So can MOUZ right the ship against Virtus.pro? Here’s the situation for both teams.
MOUZ stands as a huge 1.4 favorite against Virtus.pro, while Virtus.pro is a 2.7 underdog.
PGL Cluj-Napoca has an interesting lineup of teams, as numerous top squads passed on competing at the event after IEM Katowice 2025. This has made for many matches with prohibitive favorites, and a few that are wild mismatches. Virtus.pro and MOUZ have only played against each other one time in Counter-Strike 2 to this point. That single match took place at BetBoom Dacha Belgrade 1 in May 2024, which MOUZ won 2-1.
Both teams have undergone some major changes to their rosters since then. Virtus.pro’s lineup currently includes the following players:
Virtus.pro’s roster has been mostly stable despite some outward issues, but there have been some notable changes. Here’s the team’s current roster:
Virtus.pro fans have this fairly easy as a moneyline bet on the team brings back more than double and a half. MOUZ fans have to get a bit creative when it comes to actually taking home some cash. Here are some bets worth taking a look at.
Bettors who have lots of faith in Virtus.pro, or very little faith in MOUZ, have this fairly easy. The 2.7 moneyline bet on Virtus.pro winning offers a fairly large return.
There’s a case to be made for Virtus.pro, too. The team’s run in IEM Katowice hints at some real potential, as VP took best-of-three wins over G2 Esports and Eternal Fire. Losses to 3DMAX and Pain Gaming in PGL Cluj-Napoca have tamped down expectations, but the team isn’t doomed here.
MOUZ winning 2-0 is the best value option for betting on the favorite and getting a reasonably large return. It would also continue a little bit of a streak for MOUZ, too. MOUZ’s last five wins in best-of-three LAN matches have been 2-0 victories. Speaking to this further, five of Virtus.pro’s last six losses have come via 2-0 scores…
For those who have a bit less faith in the team, a bet on MOUZ beating Virtus.pro 2-1 stands at 3.1. If MOUZ wins, though, recent precedent suggests it will come via a 2-0 score.
