Team Liquid is looking a bit better than it did a few weeks ago, though that isn’t saying much.

After bombing out of the BLAST Austin Major with a 0-3 record, the team returned to action with a brutal loss against Sashi Esport. It’s a name that only the most degenerate Counter-Strike esports fans will recognize, largely competing in tier-three leagues throughout the year. Beating Team Liquid wasn’t even part of some sort of Cinderella run. The team ultimately fell short in the qualifiers after losing to Parivision and Team Next Level.

That made it really difficult to favor Team Liquid against anyone at IEM Cologne. After a 2-1 group stage run, the team doesn’t look like a lost cause, but it’s not looking particularly good, either.

While it’s still early, Team Liquid is still lacking anything resembling an on-server identity. It can do a little bit of everything, from clutches to strong meta plays to facilitating an individual fragging out. Only a little bit, though.

The only map where Team Liquid is above 50% this year is Anubis, which is no longer in the map rotation. The team is 50-50 on Inferno, Ancient, and Train while having a subpar record on Nuke, Dust 2, and Mirage.
MOUZ doesn’t have eye-popping numbers anywhere in 2025 but it’s above .500 on five of its maps while having a strong record on Nuke and Ancient. It does have a comparatively weak 9-12 record on Inferno.
