Hololive’s Momosuzu Nene has gone on an unexpected hiatus, and fans are worried about when she will return.
Momosuzu Nene debuted as part of Hololive Japan’s fifth generation of talents. She stood out as one of the generation’s friendliest and most affectionate vtubers. One of her running jokes with the community is calling every single one of her fans her “husbands.” The moniker extends to girls as well, leaving no fan unloved. While her bubbly personality is undoubtedly authentic, Nene is not without her struggles. In December 2021, Nene shared on stream that she was medicated for depression. A year later, she announced she was officially off of anti-depressants, and showed great strides in her recovery. Her honesty also became part of why fans became so attached to the streamer.
However, Hololive recently announced a sudden hiatus for Nene.
Momosuzu Nene has yet to announce a return date from her 2024 hiatus.
Fans first found out about her break from her official HololiveTV account. Soon after, Nene shared a statement regarding the situation. She hinted that the issue may be related to a problem she encountered earlier in July 2024.
“The trouble turned out to be bigger than we thought…..I’ll be back for sure, so don’t forget to wait for me,” said Momosuzu Nene on her Twitter account.
Fans were worried when she suddenly ended a karaoke stream without warning. She quickly posted the above update on Twitter. “I’m sorry for suddenly startling you all by closing the stream and disappearing like that!! I want to laugh and tell everyone about it soon!” said Nene in her post. However, that was the last time Nene streamed before her sudden hiatus.
Her fellow fifth-generation talents Yukihana Lamy and Omaru Polka have talked to her and told fans to await her return. Some fans speculate Nene is going through mental health issues over her arduous stream schedule, but those remain speculations. There could be a lot of reasons as to why Nene chose to go on hiatus, and she’s decided to keep them private for the time being. Given her tweet about the sudden ending of the karaoke stream, she may share the story upon her return.
