Charles “MoistCr1TiKaL” Christopher White Jr. and Ludwig Ahgren have become the co-owners of Shopify Rebellion as the more established esports organization merges with Moist Esports.
The Moist Esports esports organization was founded in 2021 by the popular content creator MoistCr1TiKaL. Fellow streamer Ludwig then joined the organization later on in 2023. The organization has pro teams on its payroll and competes in multiple games including Apex Legends, Super Smash Bros., Rocket League, Valorant, and others.
In 2023, Moist’s Valorant venture Moist Mogul’s roster merged with Shopify Rebellion’s and formed Moist x Shopify Rebellion. This sparked rumors that Moist Esports would dissolve, but this was refuted at the time. Now Moist Esports has officially joined with Shopify Rebellion as the two organizations merge.
On January 17, Ludwig and MoistCr1TiKaL announced the news of a Moist Esports merger and that the esports organization will continue operating under the Shopify Rebellion banner.
The Moist Mogul and Shopify Rebellion partnership was a successful venture in Valorant and that might have something to do with this new and more complete merger of the organizations. Moist x Shopify’s merged Valorant roster saw back-to-back wins in Valorant’s Game Changer championships. While the team didn’t win the championship, it did finish in a respectable third place and the effort was seen as a relative success.
Shopify Rebellion also entered the League of Legends esports scene, showcasing its expansive potential. The merger of Moist Esports and Shopify Rebellion might help with that as Ludwig is one of the top streamers around and has quit some experience with LoL. The timing of the merger also coincides with the new League of Legends LTA North Conference debuting in 2025, with its inaugural season getting underway on January 25.
Ludwig and MoistCr1TiKaL’s loyal fan followings might be the edge Shopify Rebellion needs to become a more popular name in the LoL esports community. The duo’s shared popularity can bring a new and fresh audience to the competitive side.
The 2025 LTA North roster of Moist x Shopify has been finalized for LoL competition and the following players are part of the new roster for 2025.
Many of Moist Esports’ teams and players are also moving to Shopify Rebellions along with this team. Moist’s Apex Legends squad, which won the ALGS Split Two Playoffs event, and the Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate rosters, will all play under the Shopify Rebellion banner moving forward.
