Modern Warfare II players are experiencing one of the best Call of Duty games that has ever hit the market—and that’s before Season 1’s release. With features dropping on the regular, there are new hints of content that we can expect in the coming weeks.
Currently, players are waiting on the release of Warzone 2.0 and Season 1, both of which release on Nov. 16. With new content come leaks, speculation, and excitement (or rejoicing) among Call of Duty fans. Season 1 will be a good one, but the established fanbase expects a trip down memory lane. As the fanbase wants nostalgia and to re-live past Call of Duty games through this year’s Modern Warfare II, the developers may have to decide whether to also include the old maps into the mix.
The leakers in the Modern Warfare II scene have come together to uncover some information about the release of Season one, and the nostalgia fans may have what they wished for. There is heavy speculation that these fan-favorite maps from the past will make a return:
From the leakers’ perspective and information, the developers are trying to make this Modern Warfare a two-year nostalgic experience.
However, if Season One doesn’t release any of these maps, the community might go wild, especially considering the current leaks. The leakers alone are pushing the developers into a corner, generating hype for content that may not have been planned for release.
Although players are reportedly getting excellent maps, they may see new weapons—and there is a very recent precedent. Within new seasons in 2019’s Modern Warfare, the developers released two weapons per season.
The current speculation points at the following weapons:
Both are very similar weapons, and they might be listed under the same weapon, but a new weapon receiver will transform the gun from the Honey Badger to the SIG MCX.
Beyond the new guns and the nostalgia-inducing maps, three crossover characters will make an appearance straight from the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Indeed, Lionel Messi, Paul Pogba, and Neymar will feature in the game as playable operators within multiplayer.
For in-game updates, it is expected that new personal progress trackers will emerge such as a Modern Warfare barracks, where players are able to track their KD, combat records, and other multiplayer statistics.
