MIBR and Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) are the first casualties of PGL Masters Bucharest.
Both teams left the $1.25 million tournament on October 28th with a 0-3 record after a disappointing showing in the Swiss group stage.
MIBR, who played their first tournament since Spun Mídia acquired the brand from Immortals Gaming Club (IGC) on October 24th, once again failed to impress at an international CS2 tournament this season.
The Brazilians have won back-to-back LANs in domestic soil since the additions of Klimentii “kl1m” Krivosheev and Aleksei “Qikert” Golubev, but were once again easy prey at the hands of better teams in a big LAN. MIBR lost to BetBoom, Astralis, and Fnatic in succession at PGL Masters Bucharest, and only won one map, against BetBoom.
As for NIP, they headed to PGL Masters Bucharest amidst NIP’s 25th birthday, and a subpar performance was somewhat expected after all the problems they faced in the preparation.

Their IGL, Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, was initially going to miss the tournament because of the birth of his second child, and NIP even announced Tim “susp” Ångström as a stand-in, but the plans shifted once Snappi’s baby was born early, allowing him to travel for PGL Masters Bucharest.
Afterward, NIP informed that Richard “Xizt” Landström was going to skip the event because of the birth of his first child, leaving NIP without a head coach for the event.
NIP still did better than MIBR, as they won two maps in three series. But they faced HEROIC, SAW, and Gentle Mates, who are teams that are on the same level as them.

While NIP and MIBR are out of PGL Masters Bucharest, paiN Gaming and HEROIC advanced to the playoffs with a 3-0 record. The former beat Gentle Mates, GamerLegion, and B8 en route to the playoffs, while the latter prevailed over NIP, BetBoom, and Aurora.
This means that there are only 12 teams left in the Swiss group stage. Here are the day four matches:
