Mega Evolution is one of the most popular mechanisms in the world of Pokémon. Since its announcement in 2013, it has become one of the most interesting mechanisms in the game. Mega Evolution is a temporary evolution that some Pokémon have during a given match. This temporary evolution provides the Pokémon with a new look and even more power. We have seen this mechanic be a part of various games in the past. In a post on their official account, the Pokémon Company has announced that Mega Evolution will be returning to Pokémon Unite.
Pokémon Unite is a free-to-play MOBA game on mobile devices and the Nintendo Switch. Since the launch of the game it has been a vital part of the Pokémon World Championships. This year, we got to see teams from around the world face off during the World Championship, with the team PERÚ becoming champions. In a post on their socials, Pokémon has announced that Mega Evolutions will be coming to Pokémon Unite in October. On October 3rd, Mega Lucario will be available in the game. While Mega Charizard will be available in the game from October 24th.
If we examine the current timeline, the third Mega Evolution will be released on November 14th. The final Mega Evolution will be released on December 4th. Currently, the only Pokémon to Mega Evolve is Mewtwo. When Mewtwo was launched, it was released in two variants: Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y. Similar to the games, each variant of Mewtwo has a unique form. In Unite, these variants also have unique unite moves. From all the Pokémon that have been released in Pokémon Unite, below is a list of all Pokémon that have a mega form:
Recently, we saw Mega Metagross be announced in Pokémon Go new season Tales of Transformation season. From the list above, it will be interesting to see which Pokémon will be added to the game. Another point to keep an eye on is how the mechanics of Mega Evolution will be added within the game. Will we see some new Mega Evolutions, like the recently announced Mega Hawlucha or Mega Victreebel, be added to unite? Only time will tell.
