meatcanyon banned on Twitch for fifth time, is it permanent?

meatcanyon Twitch ban

Hunter “meatcanyon” August Hancock was seemingly banned from Twitch while playing League of Legends and fans are left unsure what led to the platform’s action and whether the streamer will return.

Meatcanyon is a YouTube cartoonist and streamer who first gained notoriety by posting web cartoons and original animations on his YouTube channel, garnering a loyal fan following in the process. The streamer is also active on Twitch, where he’s known for his gaming content including his playing League of Legends. He has frequently butted heads with the streaming platform, leading to Twitch banning him four times.

The actions against him were strict but temporary, and he returned to streaming on Twitch each time. Twitch has now taken such action against meatcanyon yet again and banned the streamer’s channel. Viewers were surprised because the streamer was seemingly innocently playing League of Legends when his channel was suspended, and they now wonder what led to Twitch banning the content creator.

Why was meatcanyon banned from Twitch?

Twitch apparently banned meatcanyon for using slurs on stream and telling a viewer to harm themselves.

Twitch is infamous for not revealing why it takes action against a particular channel, leading to viewers waiting for streamers to issue statements or for other fans to find the source of the problem. Not all streamers talk about their bans and meatcanyon hasn’t explicitly stated why he was banned at the time of this writing, but fans have ferreted out the cause of the streamer’s suspension as an X user has tweeted the reason for it.

The X user claims he was supporting the streamer during a stream, but meatcanyon responding by telling him to commit self-harm. The tweet contains a video that supports the allegation made by the X user as meatcanyon can be heard telling the viewer to harm themselves. The X user also alleges that meatcanyon doubled down and used later a slur against them.

Twitch won’t confirm this being the exact reason for meatcanyon’s ban. But this is strong video evidence of the streamer breaking Twitch’s ToS, and occurrences like this one have often led to other streamers being banned. As nothing else can be found that would run afoul of Twitch, it seems certain that meatcanyon’s negative words would have led to his ban. The content creator was banned mere hours after the viewers tweeted the video, further speaking to this likely being the cause.

To the relief of both the streamer and his fans, meatcanyon’s ban is seemingly temporary, and he’ll be able to return to Twitch once its duration passes. How long he remains banned will depend on how severe Twitch considers the offense. The streamer could return as early as after one day, or may remain banned for one week or even a month.
