Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play hero shooter, similar to other games like Overwatch or, for the older readers, Team Fortress. Since its launch back in December 2024, the game has become one of the most played games on Steam. A major reason for this is that the game has a constant influx of content being released, which mostly includes much-loved Marvel characters.
On their social media accounts, the launch of the latest Marvel Rivals season, Season Six, was announced. In the video, Deadpool has been announced as the next hero to be launched in Marvel Rivals Season 6. Let’s take an in-depth look at his lore, his roles, and his abilities in the game!

Many fans will remember Deadpool as one of the favorite anti-hero personalities in Marvel. Following the launch of Deadpool and Wolverine, the hero has become one of the most important characters in the Marvel Universe. It was only a matter of time for the 4th wall-breaking hero to be added to the roster of Marvel Rivals. In the video titled: Season 6: Night at the Museum // Dev Vision Vol. 13, Marvel Rivals announced the launch of Deadpool. Deadpool will be available in Marvel Rivals from January 16th onwards, following the launch of the Season 6: Night at the Museum update.
In the video, Deadpool takes over the video to announce that he can be played in all three roles, thus becoming the first hero to be a Vanguard, Strategist, and Duelist. If Deadpool becomes one the best Strategists in Marvel Rivals remains to be seen. Based on the role selected by the player, Deadpool will have a unique ability. This ability will either support the team or help Deadpool get a damage buff. Deadpool’s primary attacks will consist of his Dual Desert Eagles for long range and Katanas for short range. Based on the amount of experience he gathers, Deadpool can upgrade all his abilities.
His ultimate ability consists of Deadpool marking an enemy. Once marked, the enemy will receive constant damage from a comic/chibi Deadpool. If the enemy misses his skills or attacks, the chibi Deadpool will damage them a lot more. At the end of the video, Deadpool: The Merc with a Mouth, we see Deadpool face off against Wolverine. This faceoff could be hinting at an MCU-accurate Deadpool skin to be released within the game soon.

With the hero having the ability to play in all three roles, the hero might have the highest pick rate seen by a hero at a Marvel Rivals Ignite tournament. With the first tournament starting in April, teams from around the world will be able to cooperate the anti-hero into their rosters.
