Marvel Rivals is moving into another big stage, and the developers have already given the roadmap for the latest season that players can look forward to. This season not only has a new hero but it is also packing skins, arcade changes and events that connect into the wider story. Updates are not all landing on day one, instead spread across weeks so the game always feels evolving.
Season 4 called “The Heart of the Dragon” will start on September 12, 2025. It will be followed up with smaller patches with fresh content until October, which will include new modes or cosmetic drops, to keep players returning. Make sure you are ready for the update and the best gameplay experience by ensuring these Marvel Rivals settings are in place.
The star feature of this season is Angela’s joining and so far player reaction to her has been overwhelmingly positive. She is an Asgardian queen and the new Vanguard in the roster. She has an unusual kit because she can fly, fight close with axes, throw a spear for ranged damage, and use a shield for blocking as well. This makes her the mostst versatile in the game so far with dive ability that can compensate for Venom. Angela will also receive the futuristic Skuld 2099 costume.

Together with Angela release, the Fruit of Immortality Battle Pass begins. This pass is giving a path for new unlocks as the weeks progress. You can check all the latest Season 4 Battle Pass Skins from here.
There is also an event content named Scroll of the Immortal Beasts. While not much detail has been shown right now, it is expected to tie in with the Angels vs Demons lore themes for the update and bring limited rewards.
The arcade part of the Marvel Rivals sees a big expansion this season. One of them is Free Fight, which lets players choose the same hero without limit, leading to matches full of chaos. Another is Conquest: Annihilation, a new variation of conquest play. At the same time, older arcade options like Clone Rumble, Conquest, Giant-Size Brain Blast and Doom Match are coming back as permanent choices. This makes Arcade more full outside the competitive ranked side.

On September 19, the Swimsuit & Summer Special Vol. 2 event begins. This second wave of seasonal cosmetics includes The Punisher, Invisible Woman, Mantis, Human Torch and The Thing. Back in July the first wave mixed between event rewards and store items, so it is very possible this one follows the same approach though exact prices are not yet explained.
September 26 adds a new battlefield titled K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven. This map shows a mystical martial arts atmosphere, giving more variety to the lineup of maps. Also included on this date is the new Grim Lady skin for Hela, and extra accessories made for Magneto, Luna Snow, Scarlet Witch and Cloak & Dagger.
On October 3, the spotlight moves on Emma Frost who gets the Hellfire Protocol costume. This update is smaller compared to earlier ones, but it continues the plan of weekly releases so the season does not lose rhythm.

Finally, October 10 is when Season 4.5 starts. This mid-season patch brings Daredevil into the playable roster. At present there are no full details about what else is part of 4.5, but developers have already confirmed that more will be shared closer to the date.
The pre-season named “Doom Rise” had built too much hype for the game already. And when the Eternal Nights Fall season dropped with the Fantastic Four family, the excitement for the game reached fever pitch. The Vampire lore and arcade mode were so great that the mode became permanent just due to public demand.
Then came season 2, The Hellfire Gala in April 2025, which introduced Emma Frost and Ultron, the most offensive healer in the game, and also one of the few pure villain characters of the Marvel Comics as a playable hero. There were also big changes to ranked, so performance mattered more.
Then the horror theme took a cosmic turn with Season 3, The Abyss Awakens. Running from June to September, it brought in the creepy Klyntar map, the Symbiote God lore, along with Symbiote skins for many popular characters. The “Primal Flame” combo with Wolverine turned out way too strong and got nerfed super fast. You can learn more interesting bits about every Marvel Rivals season here.
