Malrang will reportedly join Rogue for LEC 2025

Professional League of Legends player Kim “Malrang” Geun-seong may sign with Rogue for the LEC 2025.

Malrang is one of the most popular LoL esports players in the scene. He was the first-ever Korean LoL player to win in the LEC and has competed with various teams throughout his distinguished career. Unfortunately for the pro player, he doesn’t always have the best luck with teams.

The pro player left KOI (formerly Rogue) in 2023 after a disappointing season. The LoL player then joined KaBuM! Esports, where he hovered between the 7th and 5th spot. Malrang left KaBuM! Esports in June 2024 and is now looking for another esports home. Recent reports suggest Malrang may return to Rogue or whichever organization buys the team’s slot soon.

Malrang will reportedly join Rogue in 2025

According to reports, Malrang will play for Rogue in the LEC 2025.  Sheep Esports claims an insider source has confirmed that Rogue has signed Malrang for LEC 2025. The team reportedly considered four options but they all fell through for varying reasons.

The first player considered was Ham “HamBak” Yoo-jin.  HamBak didn’t wait for an offer and joined OK Brion instead. Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski was another considered jungler. Unfortunately for Rogue, his high profile meant they couldn’t match his current salary.

The final two considered players were Zhou “Bo” Yang-Bo and Ganbat “Yuuji” Ulziidelger. These didn’t work out as Bo has been inactive since his last professional game in March 2024. Meanwhile, Yuuji wouldn’t have been able to obtain a visa in time for the LEC 2025. After exhausting all possibilities, Rogue reportedly opted to sign Malrang. As of this writing, neither Rogue nor Malrang have confirmed the signing.

Jeonghoon will join Malrang in the LEC 2025

Reports suggest Lee “Execute” Jeong-hoon, formerly known as JeongHoon, has also signed with Rogue for LEC 2025.

Sheep Esports has stated that its insider source also confirmed Execute will join Rogue’s roster in LEC 2025. Execute’s return surprised fans but the League player might grab the Support role for Rogue. Notably, Rogue’s slot may get bought out by another organization soon. That means whoever buys the slot will also acquire Melrang and Execute.

Fan reactions to the roster have been positive, albeit with a tinge of snark. Although many called it a suboptimal team, they admitted the roster would be very fun to watch. Whatever the future holds for Rogue, fans will most certainly be tuning in on its esports team.
