Sources: MAD Lions to bench Reeker ahead of 2022 Summer split

According to sources close to Jaxon, MAD Lions are set to bench their mid laner, Steven “Reeker” Chen, from their LEC roster in the 2022 Summer Split. The German mid laner is expected to leave the organization as there is interest from various teams.

MAD Lions made two roster changes before the LEC 2022 Spring split as they added UNF0RGIVEN & Reeker for the newly vacant AD carry and mid lane positions. Expectations were high as MAD were back-to-back LEC Champions in 2021, and Reeker had big shoes to fill after Humanoid left the organization for Fnatic.

Although he had a decent rookie split, MAD Lions finished with a record of 8-10 and failed to qualify for the playoffs. After the disappointing finish, the team has decided to take a different approach for the 2022 LEC Summer split as they are reportedly exploring mid-lane options, which include the former Fnatic mid lanerNisqy & Misfits Gaming’s Vetheo.

As for Reeker, many team have allegedly expressed interest in signing the German mid laner, including Ibai Llanos’ KOI & Giants from the LVP SuperLiga.

The organization declined to comment.
