Group B mirrors the story of group A, and JD Gaming is now up against LYON in what should be a formality before advancing. The East has outclassed the West thus far at First Stand 2026. Can LYON find a way to turn the tide and qualify for the Knockout Stage?

Betting tip: JDG is the obvious favorite, and they should make quick work of LYON. The LCS representative looks deprived of their clutch factor. That makes this a safe bet, albeit with very low odds.
My LYON vs JD Gaming pick: Under 3.5 maps at 1.82 odds at GG.BET.

JD Gaming gave a poor first impression at First Stand 2026 because they went up against Gen.G. Gen.G manages to make every team look bad against them. In reality, JDG remains just as strong as they were at the end of the LPL Split 1.
JDG has excellent teamfighting. While their laning phase did not shine in the LPL against the likes of Anyone’s Legend and Bilibili Gaming, they outclass LYON on that aspect as well.
All of JD Gaming’s laners have a higher floor and ceiling than LYON’s. Niship “Dhokla” Doshi, for instance, will try to fight out his lane. Yet even though he can bring unique counterpicks, his opponents have stronger fundamentals than him. Dhokla didn’t manage to push his lead enough against LOUD’s top laner either, an issue he displayed regionally as well.
There are two silver linings for LYON. First, the jungle. Kacper “Inspired” Słoma is NA’s best player, particularly strong thanks to his creative early pathing and his choice of plays. Inspired knows how to find the low risk, middle reward courses of action to steadily generate a lead. Yu “JunJia” Chun-Chia faltered against Bilibili Gaming for similar reasons.
Second, the mid game macro. JDG has botched leads regionally by being shaky on that front. This roster’s teamfighting prowess is excellent, but the management of side lanes leaves a lot to be desired. It just so happens that LYON likes to play through other means than objectives, and so they could strike that weak spot.
However, these are silver linings in an otherwise insurmountable situation, and JDG should just steamroll this match.

JDG will win, with certainty. The real question is whether LYON can break the streak of 3-0s, and that one is a risky bet.
