17 teams will compete in the League of Legends World Championship starting next week (full LoL Worlds schedule here). But which are the best players you’ll be able to watch at LoL Worlds 2025? Check them out below!
This list is also made exclusively looking at their form coming into Worlds. So we’ll be able to use it as the tournament goes on to gauge which players have been over- or under-performing compared to their expectations!

Yes. There’s a 0 behind that 1. Faker at number 10.
The thing is, this is a tier list of the top 10 best players at the time of entering the League of Legends World Championship. And this year again, Faker’s form has not been on point throughout the season. Usually behind HLE, firmly behind GenG, T1 isn’t on one of its strong years and Faker has been responsible for some of the cracks in the armour.
The GOAT’s laning has been a weakness that the other top LCK mid laners have exploited this year, and he can fall behind in CS and in pressure.
On the other hand, he’s remained around the top for over 12 years already. What he doesn’t present in mechanics, he makes up for in macro, in shotcalling, in intelligence, and in an extremely high baseline level. T1 were also the runners-up at MSI 2025 for a reason.
In his current form, he’s outclassed by a number of other top players, and the 10th-place spot is justified.
But we’re at Worlds now, and at Worlds, Faker leaves behind the human and steps back into his Unkillable Demon King mantle. So, of all the players, he’s the one that I would most envision to see outclass his expectations.
And if 2025 is the year of his sixth World title, I will not be the least bit surprised.

If the LCK 2025 All-Pro team was composed of all five GenG players, it’s in the support role that this pick was up for discussion. Keria could be the best support in the world right now. Some say that he is, and it’d be hard to prove them wrong.
And there isn’t much to say about him. He just does anything that his team could need him to do, and he does it more than well. He can pick every type of champion and never shows struggles from not being at the required level on his character.
Being on a team whose relatively weak champion pools have been exposed by Fearless draft in Bo5s, him being able to pick anything and make it work in any team comp is definitely a lifesaver for T1.

JackeyLove. This player has.. had crazy performances on both sides of the spectrum. Of what sort, that’ll depend on the day of the week.
To say that he’s an aggressive marksman would be vastly underselling reality. He’s been called “one of the three genius ADCs of the LPL” for a reason, and comes into Worlds off the back of collecting the regular season MVP.
But genius and madness go hand in hand, and JackeyLove is as good at singlehandedly throwing a game as he is at getting his team to victory.
It’s actually really fun placing him in position #8, as he will no doubt perform vastly differently from expectations, but it’s impossible to tell in which direction.

Every League of Legends top laner on our list (spoiler) has been one of the best top laners in the world, and is currently still in the discussion for it. They’re also each most famously carry players.
And while he has this split branched out to play more of a weak-side, lower-resource role, Bin will keep on taking every single fight he can, regardless of his champion. And he wins these.
It’s like every champion is a carry to him, from Ambessa to Ornn.
However, Bin has looked weaker this split. Other LPL top laners were considered better than him, and his playstyle does obviously lead to unfortunate situations at times.
But with his signature Jax being buffed right in time for the tournament, I think there’s little doubt that Bin will terrorise the world with it once more.

As the best mid laner of the LPL, Knight is held back by the fact that China has not proven to be a solid enough competitor to the LCK in 2025.
Now, with that being said, he is personally the bane of Koreans, and he did lead BLG to a 2-3 World finals last year, losing game 5 after a teamfight that no one ever thought T1 could win.
Knight is excellent at playmaking champions. And between assassins, control mages, and other champions that can find fights to initiate, he’s had the largest champion pool this split.
For a downside, though, his carry champions aren’t quite as performant, and Azir will be one of the key picks at the 2025 LoL Worlds.

Always seen as the most intelligent jungler, Peanut is the player that Hanwha Life’s lanes rely on to give them grounded leads on the way to victory. He’s a facilitator; he plays for his teams and sets up their lanes, in contrast to him being famous for playmaking, “selfish” champions.
He’s had his ups and downs this year, and HLE doesn’t seem to be able to function without him performing well. But if he isn’t in a slump, he’s the glue that holds it all together and has allowed Hanwha Life Esports to be a top 1 or 2 team all year long.
As he has to complete his mandatory military service next year, this Worlds will be Peanut’s final games in the League competitive scene (for a while, at least). He’s won First Stand and MSI, and he’s made it to Worlds playoffs 6 different years – that’s one of the highest in the world.
Will he ultimately claim the last trophy he’s yet to reach, on his final day as a pro player?

Previously part of the famous ZOFGK line-up for T1, it was hard to evaluate whether his success came more from his team or his own contribution. And his team swap with Doran this year gave a clear answer to that, as Zeus has been a top 2 top laner through all of 2025.
He’s a carry player, taking every carry top laner into the meta to great success, and then also the ones that most other players don’t go for. And that’s still not all of it: Zeus isn’t afraid of bringing his own unique picks to the competition – and he wins with these too.
The 2025 meta makes use of both top lane carries and weak siders who can absorb pressure even in lane swaps. But luckily, he does just as well on lower-resource picks, and will do just fine in every situation.

Kiin has spent a long time as one of the world’s best top laners, but was stuck in one of the LCK’s worst teams. And even as part of Afreeca / Kwangdong Freecs, he was recognised as such despite being unable to show results for it.
Now that he’s out of there and in a team as frightening as Gen.G, Kiin is unleashed. Like Zeus, he’s played carry top laners for the last half of the year, and has taken Gen.G to near-constant victories on them. And with Camille getting buffed on the 25.20 Worlds patch, it’s one of his trump cards that’s prime and ready to rejoin the meta.
But he’s not limited to these picks either, as he has also been a weakside player for the entirety of 2024 and the first half of 2025. He can be the carry for the team, but he can be just as much of a rock if Gen.G opt for another playstyle.

Unlike his duo lane partner, Ruler has been a staple of the marksman role for an extremely long time. In fact, he was already representing Gen.G’s slot (then filled by Samsung Galaxy) at the 2016 Worlds.
And this year… well, in fact, it hasn’t been his best year, looking at it as a whole. Over the first two splits of 2025, Ruler was on the weak side of the team, often faltering in 2v2s and getting caught in mid lane.
But he’s ramped up throughout the year, and sharply so. By the end of MSI, he was a strong performer, and in the rest of the split, he was the best ADC of the region and likely the world. He’s fixed his laning problems, and he’s an unmatched teamfighter who can find the perfect spots to be lethal without putting himself in danger.
Ruler’s rise in form has continued all up until GenG’s last series, and he’s coming to Worlds off the back of a grand finals MVP.

Chovy has been one of the best players for years. Always in contention to be Faker’s rival and challenger to the title of best player of all time, he is, without a doubt, a stellar mid laner.
But despite that, he’s never won a Worlds title. In fact, he’s not even reached finals, not once. Even while looking like the best, he would fall short at Worlds, and as such can’t in good conscience be seen as the best player of all time, if his rival to that spot has five Worlds trophies to match against his, well, zero.
But this year, this year could just be different. It could be Chovy’s year – finally. Undefeated at MSI, almost undefeated in the LCK, GenG has brought a level of dominance rarely seen before from any team.
And while Chovy has faltered with strong teams before, he is perceived as a Worlds choker because his performances at this tournament are never quite as good as domestically. But the strength displayed here is on a different level.
So maybe, this Worlds could finally be the one.
He’s known for being the best at farming, and his laning prowess puts all other mid laners to shame. He seems to have a counterpick for every situation, and rides the momentum to victory. To find a caveat, his Annie hasn’t been impressive, and he’s no Syndra player either, while she just got buffed for the tournament.
Still, Chovy enters the 2025 LoL Worlds as the best player of the tournament, based on his performances this year. And to win Worlds, his form throughout the tournament needs to match what he and GenG have shown throughout the year.
These are the 10 best players at LoL Worlds 2025! Or, at least, going into it. Who do you think will go beyond their expectations… and who will forget to show up? Let us know!
