The 2025 LoL Worlds anthem debuted today with a whole new song and video for fans to obsess over.
Every year, LoL fans and players look forward to a brand new song to represent the League of Legends World Championship tournament. Past anthems have included Imagine Dragon’s original “Warriors,” Against the Current’s iconic “Legends Never Die,” and Lil Nas X’s hip-hop “STAR WALKIN’.” Along with the anthem comes a creatively animated music video set to represent a different aspect of the League of Legends gaming scene. For many, the Worlds anthem is a highlight of the tournament in addition to all of the actual matches.
After a delay due to a situation revolving around a featured player, Riot dropped the official 2025 Worlds anthem right before the start of competition.
The 2025 LoL Worlds anthem is “Sacrifice” by G.E.M.
Although not as hype as some of the past anthems for the international competition, “Sacrifice” has soaring vocals and leans into the theme of struggle for victory. The sound is softer than some other songs while still bringing it all together with an emotional bridge.
Artist G.E.M. is a Hong Kong-based singer and songwriter known for her musical versatility and powerhouse vocals. She gets to share her Worlds anthem on stage in her home country, China, where she has already garnered a significant amount of fame.
The music video highlights the long history of League of Legends as an esport by taking famous moments and boosting them to celestial heights. Some of the most recognizable features include Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok’s Azir win against Park “Ruler” Jae-hyuk’s Varus in the 2024 Worlds tournament, and a tribute to Maciej ‘Shushei’ Ratuszniak, an original LoL Worlds winner who passed earlier this year. Ending with fans and pro players being featured together, the “Sacrifice” music video truly celebrates the vast experiences in League that make it great.

Riot pays tribute to Shushei in the League of Legends Worlds anthem 2025.
While there are a number of LoL players showcased in the “Sacrifice” video, fans may notice an absence of any representatives from North America. This was due to a last minute change in response to comments made by the featured player.
Originally featured as the North America representative, Riot removed Gabriel “Bwipo” Raus from the 2025 LoL Worlds anthem video due to recent controversy.
Bwipo sparked a small controversy within the LoL community after saying on stream that there was a certain time of the month during which women were worse-suited for competitive gaming. FlyQuest initially benched him for one game, though he was then returned to the roster. Riot decided to remove him from the “Sacrifice” music video, stating that they didn’t want his comments to represent the community as a whole.
The Worlds play-in starts on October 14, and the tournament continues through until November 9.
Fans have plenty of ways to watch the competition live as well as several teams to keep their eyes on. Hopefully, the 2025 LoL Worlds anthem will be enough to keep both viewers and players pumped. If not, there’s a whole backlog of anthems to blast on full volume.
