ZA/UM has released limited edition Disco Elysium jackets and prints, and they’re incredible-looking

Disco Elysium Thought Cabinet Jacket

Disco Elysium merchandise company ZA/UM Atelier has unveiled a limited drop of clothing, entitled the Thought Cabinet, inspired by the game and its unique artistic style.

Unveiled by release on Nov. 19, the collection features three items, including a limited-to-50 centerpiece, Kim’s Sky Shroud Jacket, inspired by Kim Kitsuragi’s iconic jacket.

The jacket is accompanied by a double-sided overcoat, the RCM Stormbreaker Coat, and a Limited Edition Screenprint, again with just 50 pieces being made. All in all, this tiny Disco Elysium-inspired capsule drop gives a tiny taste of what artisanal video games clothes could be.

Looking over the designs, they really are something special. The print is based on the instantly recognisable Thought Cabinet illustration by Anton Vill which formed the basis of the Thoughts system in Disco Elysium.

The Kim’s Sky Shroud Jacket copies the in-game design’s cut, but doesn’t just replicated it. Instead, it’s using the print to be something more of a statement. Each one of the just 50 Kim’s jackets will be custom-engraved with leather tag bearing the owner’s name.

Similarly, the prints are mounted on a traditional hand table using archival inks on archival paper. All prints are numbered and signed by the artist.

But for us, the real stand out, and the piece we’d feel most comfortable wearing, is definitely the RCM Stormbreaker Coat. Based on the coat donned by Harry Dubois in Disco Elysium, the jacket can either showcase the utilitarian, dark layer with the RCM logo, or be turned inside out to showcase the thought cabinet print.

These are prestige pieces though. Kim’s jacket runs for 1,499 €, the Stormbreaker for 649 €, and the print for 599 €. Clearly aimed at a very specific clientele or just the most extreme Disco Elysium collector. You can check out the collection on ZA/UM Atelier’s website, alongside their existing range of official Disco Elysium merchandise.
