Letters from Jaxon – m0NESY needs to break free

Letters from Jaxon

Dear Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov

The player break has always been an opportunity to discover what the lower tiers of Counter-Strike have to offer. This year, however, something special happened. Watching the WePlay Academy League, I discovered you. And I have to say, it feels like I discovered the new s1mple.

How often have you heard that take over the past few weeks? From random people on Twitter to the most-known analysts in the scene, everyone is comparing you to the same person. And all I can wonder is, doesn’t that bother you?

Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure it’s an honor to be named the successor to the greatest player to ever touch the game. But I don’t think you should settle to be the next s1mple. I actually think you could become the first m0NESY. Yes, I know, crazy right?

But here comes the real shocker: you need to leave Na’Vi to do so. Farming academy leagues is fun, but you don’t really have a future at Na’Vi. Despite their excellent work with developing young players over the past years, you will always stay “the next s1mple” as long as you’re wearing the yellow and black.

It’s time to spread your wings, make a name for yourself. Plenty of teams would be happy to have you. It’s risky, but I’m sure you are worth the gamble.

Yours truly,

Jaxon.gg.
