Train is a heavily CT-sided map, but Ts can dominate with the help of a few utility lineups. Here are some of the best smokes to break into Train’s A site.
Train has returned to CS2, featuring significant weather changes and enhanced aesthetic lighting. While the Source 2 overhaul makes Deagle skins look more visually appealing out in the yard, the map layout remains largely unchanged. However, the updates introduce enough tweaks to render old smoke lineups ineffective. While CTs may still be able to eyeball their utility and win a few rounds, Ts will have to put in some extra effort due to the complex layout of Train.
These smokes may help block CTs’ sight and barge into A.
To gain control of A on Train, the three best smokes are at ivy, mid-window, and Z, which is also known as connector. Two of these smokes can be executed from the same position near T spawn, allowing just two players to handle the setup efficiently. One player should drop an extra smoke in T base to allow for double smokes.
Jump on top of the pole, as shown in the picture, and then place the crosshair where the railing meets the scalloped edge. Jump-throw the smoke to block ivy.
For mid-window, stand in front of the second-to-last pole and position the crosshair on the lower half of the pipe, as shown in the image. Press the jump and throw keys simultaneously to deploy the smoke for mid-window.
From the same position, players can also smoke off Z. Equip a second smoke, aim just below the edge of the roof, and press the jump and throw keys to successfully block Z.
These three smokes, paired with a few flashes, should grant smooth entry into A site. Of course, players may want to watch out for enemies hiding in the middle of trains and cameras, but it should be easy, considering that the main angles that Ts hold are blocked off.
