Leak reveals that Treasure Maps will return in Chapter 3

fortnite chapter 3 season 1

Treasure maps only had a brief stint in Fortnite Chapter 1.

They were one of Epic’s first experiments with new looting mechanics – something they greatly expanded in Chapter 2.

Although they were short-lived, most players enjoyed finding a map that led them directly to tier-one loot.

According to Hypex, the Treasure Maps are set to return this season/chapter with some tweaks. They’ll drop 270 materials, four healing items, and four high-tier weapons.

I made a small mistake here, it actually drops 4 weapons, 4 heals, 270 mixed mats, so much ammo & 100 Gold. And those 4 heals could ALL be big shields for example, or 2 big shields, 1 Medkit & Minis, if that makes sense.

These COULD change when it releases but i doubt it! pic.twitter.com/Y9711oYGCI

For now, we don’t know when these improved Treasure Maps will come back to Fortnite.

They’re listed in the game files, but that doesn’t mean much. We could see these as soon as tomorrow or as late as a few seasons from now.
