Financial analyst David Szajnuk claims several insiders knew the LCS Summer Finals location already, and that nobody wanted to “say the quiet thing out loud.” A Redditor who claims to have insider information supports Szajnuk’s statements and says people “deserve to be able to make plans for the biggest NA LoL event of the year.”

Riot PR allegedly locked in the Summer Finals arena in late March 2024, a surprisingly late date for such a grand event. The Redditor also speculated on potential arenas, such as KIA Forum, YouTube Theater, Hollywood Bowl, and Intuit Dome. The Reddit post speculates that the logistical mess of the 2024 LCS Summer Split might be indicative of the organization making financial adjustments for the year.

Several fans pointed out that Los Angeles has hoarded several League of Legends events and that other metropolitan cities deserve a chance. Locations like Miami and Toronto haven’t had an event in years. Meanwhile, other potential sites like Washington D.C. and Philadelphia never had one. The lack of reach meant a lot of fans who would have loved to see a League of Legends event live simply can’t. Either way, the final playoffs event of 2024 will certainly be a controversial event one way or another.
