LCS Spring Split Predictions

Here are our predictions for the LCS Spring Split. After watching the Lock-in tournament, we will likely not get many surprises during the Spring split. Some teams look to maintain their same level, while others demonstrated that they will keep growing.

LYON, the late bloomers

At Lock-in, LYON went from a very inconsistent team to the undisputed best. After all, the team had a brand-new roster, and Dhokla only joined just before the split started. The form that they achieved in the playoffs seems like their real level, and it’s unlikely that they’ll fall back down.

LYON is more creative than the rest of the league, while having good bases all across the board. Berserker is fearless when needing to press a lead, Dhokla can seemingly pick anything despite not being the best at converting an advantage.

The most important component of the team, however, is Inspired, the best player in the league and fighting with Caps over the title of best Western player.

Heading into the Spring split, LYON is the frontrunner to win the event. There is also a possibility that they’ll drop places during the regular season to then bounce back during the playoffs.

Cloud9, still seeking redemption

C9 is always a top-two in the regular season. In Winter, they were once again the clear best team. Then, they once again fell short in the playoffs and lost to LYON. At this point, this happened for six splits in a row, and we can expect the same once more. Sentinels and Team Liquid are right on their tail, and they can’t seem to fix the problem that keeps blocking them.

I would not bet on C9. Eventually, they’ll bounce back and finally manage to win a title again. For now, though, every split repeats the same story, and that doesn’t happen.

FlyQuest, the growing roots

In 2026, FlyQuest changed most of their roster, only keeping Quad and Massu. Now, they have a promising squad that’s made up of the youngest players in the league, on average. Going by the results, the Lock-in tournament didn’t go well. 2-1 in the Swiss stage, before losing both playoffs matches 0-3.

However, their three losses were all against C9 and LYON, the two best teams in the league. Fly could very well have made it to third place had they had different opponents – although they were clearly out of the top two.

For the LCS Spring Split, the important part is their youth. The roster is brand new, the players are young, and already the team has shown growth over their few matches of Lock-in.

Whether they can breach the top two, we’ll find out soon enough, but this team will improve and is a dark horse to keep one’s eyes on.
