Anycolor has announced that Kunai Nakasato is graduating from Nijisanji, but why would this announcement happen after she went on an extended break?
2024 has been an intense year for Nijisanji, ranging from falling stock prices to multiple talents leaving. Just in August 2024, multiple big vtubers have announced their retirement. One of them is Hex Haywire, who graduated in the same month as his announcement, and now there is news of Kunai graduating. Kunai Nakasato joined Nijisanji in its ninth wave along with Victoria Brightshield.
The streamer Kunai announced a hiatus in July 2024 but had mentioned plans for her return. However, she has now announced her graduation, and this surprising news has fans wondering why she is leaving.
Kunai Nakasato is graduating from Nijisanji on September 21, 2024, but fan letters will be accepted until October 21, 2024.
Anycolor’s official statement was shared on Nijisanji’s X profile announcing the graduation of Kunai Nakasato and some other details. The statement confirmed that the vtuber’s social media accounts would remain public until the same day as her graduation.
Anycolor further mentioned Kunai’s “communicative laugh and bubbly personality” as a means of delight for her fans. The company thanked the steamer for her contribution and wished her luck in her future endeavors.
Anycolor and Kunai Nakasato haven’t stated why she is graduating, but Kunai has shared the statement on her X, so there is no animosity between them.
Anycolor’s statement didn’t elaborate on why the vtuber is leaving, but the decision seems to be a mutual one without any bad blood between the two parties. Vtubers graduate for various reasons and assuming the worst isn’t logical.
While Kunai Nakasato didn’t share a reason for her infinite hiatus that she had announced in July 2024, the same is the case with graduating. However, she had talked about health issues in a live stream on her YouTube channel, so that may be the reason.
