Team Endpoint just did what nobody thought was possible. They beat World’s number 1 Natus Vincere in the third game of ESL Pro League. 2-0 was the scoreline (16-7, 16-10).
Before the game, Endpoint was 0-2 down in the group after losses to Vitality and a very close match against Team Spirit yesterday.
Jaxon caught up with a happy Markus “Kjaerbye” Kjærbye after the match:
Jaxon: Are you surprised that you beat the world’s best team 2-0 – even in a compelling manner?
Kjaerbye: It’s an insanely great feeling to beat the number one ranked team in the world. I’m really happy to be able to prove what we can do.
Jaxon: What was the key to the win?
Kjaerbye: Teamwork. These guys that I play with are hungry and insanely talented.
Jaxon: Surely it gives you hope to advance from the group after a difficult start?
Kjaerbye: The hope has always been there. We fought our way back in an insane matchup against Team Spirit yesterday, which unfortunately didn’t end up paying off. But our performance gave us extra motivation ahead of the match today. We will never give up, no matter how hard it may look on a piece of paper.
Jaxon: Next up are NiP and Fnatic. Especially Fnatic has been looking quite solid. How are you going to own them?
Kjaerbye:
One round at a time – we have to concentrate on a crucial match against NIP tomorrow.
