Kinguin’s new Legends series starts today, featuring CSGO’s past stars as team captains. Jaroslaw “Pashabiceps” Jarzablowski, Kenny “kennyS” Schrub, and Filip “NEO” Kubski will take part in the $50.000 event.
The tournament will have six teams compete in the group stage, where they will play a best-of-one round-robin. The top four teams will qualify for playoffs, with the highest-ranked team directly qualifying for the finals.
According to Viktor Wanli, founder, and creative director at Kinguin, the tournament is meant as a trip down memory lane.
“Kinguin Legends was created from the notion that we all remember the iconic moments in esports and the emotions associated with them. We wanted to provide a space for the community to relive those moments, with some of their favorite esports personalities, and create new and equally thrilling moments to live alongside them.”
As far as nostalgia goes, we will see a miniature Virtus.Plow reunion, as Pashabiceps has called upon his available former teammates. On the other hand, NEO will be playing with NIP and Fnatic’s finest.
The six captains, Pashabiceps, NEO, kennyS, Maikel “maikelele” Bill, Ioann “Edward” Sukhariev, and Former CS 1.6 player Emil “HeatoN” Christensen, have selected teams consisting of former legends and current free agents to compete in Kinguin Legends.
