The first week of Fortnite Season 7 is in the books as player continue to explore and discover new elements of the update.

Let’s take a look at all of the leaks and announcements we saw this week.

Controversial comp changes

Soon after Season 7 came out, Epic made some big changes to the competitive side of the game.

In recent seasons, it seems like Epic have been erring on the side of caution when it comes to overpowered items – a long way from the BRUTE days of old.

Epic removed the Rail Gun and Recon Scanner – two powerful weapons – from the Season 7 competitive loot pool.

This is understandable, to a degree, but it makes the game relatively stale. These items were two of the defining weapons in Season 7. Now, Season 7 feels an awful lot like other generic Fortnite seasons – not the end of the world, but the community is split as to whether or not this is a good thing.

New weapon leaks

The Rail Gun and Recon Scanner aren’t the only alien-themed weapons that we’ll be getting in Season 7. According to leaks, we should see the new Cowinator and Prop Gun in upcoming patches.

Both of these weapons were seen in the Season 7 trailer. The former will lift items into the air and the latter transforms you into a prop – something we’ve already seen in Fortnite, albeit in a different form.

It’s exciting to know that more weapons are on the horizon, only a week after the season came out. Season 7 looks to be a true return to form for Fortnite, complete with regular content updates.

More Rick and Morty content

Rick Sanchez upstaged Superman as the marquee crossover skin in the Season 7 Battle Pass, and with good reason.

Well, it looks like Rick may not be the only one from his universe to enter the Battle Royale. Eagle-eyed fans noticed some in-game teasers in Fortnite that relate to Summer and Mr. Nimbus possibly entering the game.

Unfortunately, Morty is far too small to ever come to the game – unless he’s a back bling. This could be a cheeky wink at the new season of Rick and Morty, or it could be a teaser for more to come.
