This week in Fortnite, we saw some new skins, a new patch, and some massive leaks that have implications for the future of the game.
Let's take a look at what you might have missed.
v17.40 Patch
The most important in-game news of the week comes with the new patch.
v17.40 brought some big changes to Fortnite, including the Imposter LTM, the return of Wild Weeks, a new Exotic Burst AR, and a Coral Castle abduction.
Some players hope that this abduction signals the end of the Coral Castle POI. It was a bit of a miss and has been in the game for long enough. It's time to move on.
Future map leaks
The v17.40 patch also seems to have brought a ton of new leaks to the game.
We have a long list of leaks that involve a new "Diameter" map, which fans ad data miners assume is for Chapter 3.
Even more interesting, though, was the news of an open-world map coming to the game. This one is supposed to be massive, and could relate to a new survival version of Fortnite.

New Crossover Skins
Also in the news this week were crossover skins.
We saw Mecha Morty come to the game - a predictable inclusion after Rick hit the Battle Pass.
We also saw a J Balvin skin finally come to the Icon Series, months after his Party Royale concert.
The latter skin will hit the Item Shop soon, and Epic are giving players a chance to earn it early through the J Balvin Cup.
Awww geez Rick.
