Akin to G2, MKOI had a lackluster regular season and came back swinging in the playoffs. KC did the opposite: after getting first in the round robin, they showed little of that dominance in the playoffs. In the end, both met their maker when they went up against G2.
That being said, while neither team could secure a game win, they fought and made strides. MKOI had a great early game against G2, being ahead before minute 10 in all games, and until minute 20 in two out of three. Blatant mispositioning by Supa cost them game 1, while G2 reclaimed the lead through better objective setup in game 3.
As for Karmine, they came back in game 2 against G2 through smite steals. However, greed in the late game prevented it from turning into a win.

If we go by the head-to-head between those two teams, this match-up is a toss-up. Performances in these playoffs favor MKOI though. Mostly, the Spanish team has a stylistic edge. Movistar also does a great job at adapting to their opponent, and they come into this match with more time to prepare than KC.
MKOI has a strong early game, and they know how to get a lead through bot or mid lane. Furthermore, Elyoya’s carry picks enable the team to have Jojo support his jungler alongside the opposite. Snuffing out the opposition in the early game was their game plan in the LEC Versus playoffs, and also the way they wanted to play at Worlds 2025.
In both tournaments, they met their demise by failing to hold onto that lead. One mistake, a few seconds of air-mindedness, and the win condition comes crashing down. However, KC’s strength hasn’t been punishing mistakes.

KC rely on Busio’s creativity and Canna’s ability to turn into a powerhouse. Against GiantX, their strategy was to absorb their proactive attempts and strike back later. This split, that hasn’t worked against opponents that could match their level. Karmine Corp has consistently performed against the bottom of the barrel teams, but did not get results against the top ones. This was particularly clear in their rematch against a powered up G2 in the playoffs.
KC’s path to victory goes through the fact that they also have strong laners that might not bow down to MKOI’s. To complicate things for them though, Movistar KOI has shown that their fighting spirit remains intact even if they go down in the series.
