While they have been challenged a few times, Karmine Corp now stands at 6-0 in the LEC Spring Split. In the final week, they will go up against their two rivals, starting with G2 Esports. Lagging at 4-2, G2 has yet to reclaim their status as kings of Europe. Regardless, they’ve proven that they can never be counted out.

G2 is the team that thinks outside the box in the LEC. This squad can pick anything they want, but they mostly find ways to approach the game that take others off guard. G2 doesn’t limit themselves to what others do, they find their own way to play.
With the best mid laner in the West except when he’s not, Rudy “SkewMond” Semaan who made a case for being the best jungler in the World at First Stand, and a marksman who reliably does his job, G2 starts the game with decent tools in their hands. However, should they fall behind, their craftiness usually has their back to give them a way back into the game.
The problem is that this hasn’t always been enough against KC. Karmine Corp also excels at somehow coming back and winning. In the LEC Versus grand final against G2, this bailed them out in game 4 and almost did again in game 5.
During the LEC Versus playoffs, G2 started with a lead in six of their seven matches. Afterwards, KC came back or didn’t. In the Spring Split, it hasn’t been the same KC or G2.
G2 looks shakier, while KC has mostly been more dominant again. In top lane and support in particular, Kim “Canna” Chang-dong and Alan “Busio” Cwalina have shown better form than their counterparts.
Judging by the Spring Split, G2 lacks what they’ve used to sweep KC in the early game. On the other hand, their opponents still have their solid mid game to respond.
