Over the past month, G2 Esports has already beaten Karmine Corp twice. First on the big stage in the LEC Spring Split roadshow, then remotely during the Esports World Cup qualifier. Now, G2 and KC meet again in round 1 of the LEC Spring playoffs – ironically, in the small venue of the LEC Arena. Will the LEC Versus champion repeat the same result once more?
Betting tip: G2 always drastically levels up during playoffs, and they already just won before that. While they’ll lose the big stage buff they found in Paris, they’re still the heavy favorites in the LEC playoffs.
Karmine Corp vs G2 Esports prediction: Under 4.5 maps at 2.27 odds at GG.BET.

In the Spring Split, both series between G2 and KC have gone the same way. There’s one game where Karmine pulls ahead and takes the lead before losing it all of a sudden. Besides that one, all other maps are G2 stomps.
This is particularly worrying as KC is supposed to be the master of these comebacks. During the regular season, a good portion of their wins came from holding on and reversing the lead. This was also what happened in the LEC Versus final, allowing them to take the series to five games.
Right now, G2 outclasses KC in the mid and jungle areas, while Sergen “BrokenBlade” Çelik can also assert himself top lane. Only the bot lane is a toss-up, but G2 was able to neutralize it whenever Caliste “Caliste” Henry-Hennebert started winning.
Karmine Corp has five excellent players and equally good team play, so there are areas for them to win. Kim “Canna” Chang-dong has what it takes to beat BrokenBlade, and he could get to that level again.
Kang “kyeahoo” Ye-hoo and Martin “Yike” Sundelin need for their counterparts to be in bad form and they can drive the game home. And G2’s mid and jungle famously happen to have off days. To round this out, the bot lane shouldn’t have much trouble locking in alongside the rest of the team.
KC is only a few “ifs” away from having the edge over G2. However, their opponent isn’t relying on such hypotheticals.

KC and G2 is a rivalry that can go either way, but recency strongly argues in favor of the latter. The First Stand finalist has won consistently and convincingly, and there’s no reason to believe they won’t do it again.
