Karmine Corp and G2 Esports came into the LEC 2025 Sprint split as favorites to win the entire competition. The final week of the regular season will see both teams face off against each other, and KC may have a significant advantage.
With the current LEC’s regular season nearing its conclusion with one final road trip, Karmine Corp has proven why it’s one of the favorites to win. After a stretch of play that included winning the previous LEC and surpassing all odds to reach the First Stand finals, the team is comfortably sitting in the top three rankings of the current standings.
Although G2 Esports is also considered a threat by other participating teams, its performance has at times left much to be desired. Losing to such teams as BDS and struggling against many other sides is a bad look for a theoretical contender, though G2 has the chance to turn things around by winning against Karmine Corp.
Karmine Corp is considered one of the strongest European League of Legends teams, and recent games have given fans no reason to doubt this. While the team did lose to Fnatic, KC comfortably got through its other matches, and much of that is thanks to the team’s jungler, Yike. In addition his fairly high objective acquisition rates, Karmine Corp’s mid-laner and ADC have also showcased excellent performance, with both players displaying good carry potential.
G2 Esports is playing rather well despite fans’ mixed opinions on the squad’s current state. Hans Sama and SkewMond have been the most consistent, and both players have gone multiple games without dying even a single time. The team’s weak link may be the top laner, BrokenBlade, who has developed a bad tendency to take unnecessary fights. This is a coin toss, as the top laner’s aggression could result in him unnecessarily dying and giving the enemy free gold, or act as the perfect initiation for winning team fights.
Below are the rosters for both teams:
Karmine Corp:
G2 Esports:
The fearless draft system encourages professional players to test new champions, and that’s exactly what Karmine Corp does. While KC’s champion pool is fairly diverse, some of the most common picks include Gnar, Ambessa, Vi, Akali, Taliyah, Yone, Miss Fortune, and Alistar.
G2 Esports also has a large selection of champions its players can pick from. The most common ones include Jax, Maokai, Xin Zhao, Hwei, Kaisa, Varus, and Alistar. The team’s support can also go for a pick like Rell or Leona, depending on Karmine Corp’s selected champions.
G2 Esports and Karmine Corp have met on the big stage eight times, with G2 taking the win in five matches. Despite KC’s recent successes, the team only has a 38% win rate against G2.
G2 Esports may have a better win rate against Karmine Corp, but KC is the favorite to win against G2 in the current LEC with a betting line of 1.75. G2’s line of 2.05 cements it as the underdog, though not by much.
G2 Esports is known for coming out guns blazing. While the team played more slowly against Team Vitality, that will be tough against Karmine Corp. KC tends to play a more poke-heavy strategy, which will likely force G2’s ADC and top laner on the offensive. Karmine Corp suffered from poor drafting against Fnatic and is unlikely to make the same mistake against G2.
This could ultimately come down to the two junglers. While SkewMond has showcased better ganking skills, KC’s Yike effectively prioritizes objectives, which may give his team the advantage if any of the games go the distance. Karmine Corp’s better recent international experience and more stable and consistent performance may ultimately give it the edge over G2.
