Kai Cenat is no stranger to breaking records. From becoming the most subscribed streamer multiple times to streaming with celebrities most assumed wouldn’t think twice about streamers on Twitch, the creator has redefined what it means to be a successful streamer. Now, there’s a solid argument that he is the most successful Twitch streamer of all time.
Amidst his ongoing Mafiathon 3 subathon stream, Kai Cenat has attracted many eyes by collaborating with the likes of Kevin Hart and Linkin Park. By appealing to people with all sorts of likes and interests, the streamer’s marathon stream managed to break two major records on Twitch.
Kai Cenat broke the records for having the most active subscribers on Twitch when he hit and surpassed 1 million total subscribers, and then became the most followed channel on Twitch just a short time later.
The previous holder of the record for most followers on Twitch was Ibai Llanos Garatea, more commonly known as just Ibai. Being the co-founder of KOI and having a history in esports content creation, many assumed that his record-breaking 19.78 million followers would take quite a while for anyone to surpass.

Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 stream has proven otherwise, and things advanced again when he had a sleepover at Kevin Hart’s house. He was joined by Hart, Druski, and Ray J, and they all talked for hours about a wide range of topics. It was during this time that Kai broke the record for having the most followers on Twitch by moving past Ibai’s follower count and reaching a staggering 19.8 million followers.
Cenat continues to make waves on the internet, having already proven that he isn’t just another streamer. In particular, his marathon streams always create clips that thousands of people find amusing, from Druski belly-flopping into Kevin Hart’s swimming pool, to the streamer singing alongside the singer Alicia Keys and her family, to appearances from names with major crossover appeal like Bill Nye. And even with his great wealth and success already assured, doesn’t seem like Kai Cenat wants to stop just yet.
Kai Cenat, Kevin Hart, and Druski also announced that the three would be starring in a movie together. With the movie guaranteed to feature a veritable bevy of collaborations and plenty of nods to his fans, it remains to be seen exactly how high Cenat’s influence can take him and just how many more records he can break on Twitch and beyond.
